Precision Utility Locating School

Precision Utility Locating School trains through classroom and field experience with graduating students becoming Certified Underground Utility Locators. Training is designed for individuals ranging from those with no prior experience as an underground utility locator to professionals with up to 240 hours of documentation training and experience. The 40-hour training course, taught by Craig Meyers, meets National Utility Locating Contractors Associations Standards and Common Ground Alliance Best practices. Intensive skills testing ensures the Certified Underground Utility locators technicians can demonstrate their abilities according to current locate laws, industry best practices and current industry standards. Precision Utility Locating graduates are recognized as utility locator professionals who have passed a rigorous set of hands-on and theory knowledge examinations based on the highest training standards in the industry.

Along with classroom instruction, the student will experience actual working conditions that will give a comprehensive view and understanding of locating pipe in true field conditions on residential, commercial and private properties. Our specialized underground utility locating and plastic pipe locating training is appropriate for plumbers, excavators, contractors, students and home inspection people working in the construction and maintenance fields.

Advanced techniques address the complicated issues of locating utilities on private property. Locating underground utilities in and around buildings also can be very confusing, so we present a common sense approach to locating that will create success every time. An in-depth discussion about the different types of locating equipment in real-life working conditions will help each utility locator technician decide what type of equipment best fits their needs.
